- Monument Valley

On this trip I’ve visited the Painted Desert, Canyon de Chelly, Antelope Canyon, and Monument Valley. It just keeps getting better. Having seen most of the films shot here it was very exciting to see it live . The conditions were cloudy with some rain so even though I got out at sunset and sunrise neither lasted very long because of the weather. So like Antelope Canyon I’m already planning another trip. I’ll post two three or four and will start with a classic view that I took at first light. I didn’t see John Wayne or John Ford but I was thinking of them when I took this.
Another nice one John. I would also be interested to see the color version of this image since it looks like you had some interesting clouds in the sky.
I sent you an email to yahoo address. Assume that is still current?
Got it and replied. Thanks for sharing the color image with me.
Please post this photo in color. I am going to be there in three weeks and am curious about the colors.
Hi, this shot was taken at 5:30AM and there isn’t any color that is why I converted it to black and white. I will be posting a couple more today and tomorrow and you will see the colors.
I am so excited to find your AZ photos. We stayed in the Navajo hotel on the top of the ridge so we had sunset and sunrise shots into Monument Valley. I lived and taught in Mesa for 7 years and we traveled extensively through AZ. Amazing place. We wished we had discovered it earlier in our careers! Do you have pictures of Canyon de Chelly? One of our favorite places, anywhere……namaste…..Anne
Thank you, one could spend a lifetime only shooting in Arizona and be very happy about it. There are several Canyon de Chelly photos here. Just scroll down a bit and you’ll see them.
