Edinburgh

After visiting Copenhagen we sailed across the North Sea to Edinburgh.  It was pretty stormy with intermittent rain when we docked so we spent most of the time inside sampling whisky but did get this shot of the skyline.

Windsor Castle

We hired a bus to drive us to Windsor Castle which was 2.5 hours from London.  It was well worth the cost and time it took.  They also have a changing of the guard ceremony which is much easier to see than at Buckingham Palace.

Sugar Loaf Rock

I posted this rock previously but it has been awhile ago.  Recently a person contacted by me via the blog who wanted permission to print it for a gift.  His request motivated me to go shoot it again.  The stormy weather was just clearing.  You get pretty wet taking a 45 second exposure with an incoming tide.

The Needle

I visit family on Bainbridge Island and photograph the Seattle skyline every ferry crossing.  The light and sky are always changing and sometimes there is a surprise.  Tuesday the sun popped out unexpectedly on an otherwise dark and stormy day.The Needle 15

Nubble Lighthouse

The Cape Neddick Lighthouse stands on Nubble Island about 100 yards  off Cape Neddick Point. It is commonly known as Nubble Light or simply The Nubble. Cape Neddick Point is at the north end of Long Sands Beach in the village of York Beach. The lighthouse is inaccessible to the general public, but the nearby mainland is occupied by Sohier Park with a view of the lighthouse and a gift shop with a “Nubble” theme.  If you’re adventurous you can climb down the rocks and get to the waters edge to ad a little drama to your shot.
