C & O Canal

Cheasapeake & Ohio Canal Md

While at Maryland’s Great Falls Park the dramatic Potomac river gets most of the attention including mine.  However, paralleling the river is the C&O Canal, occasionally referred to as the “Grand Old Ditch,” operated from 1831 until 1924. It runs from Cumberland, Maryland to Washington, DC and is 185.5 miles long. A quiet contrast to the roaring river.

Four Mile Run Creek

This creek runs through Bluemont Park in Arlington VA.  I’m here visiting family and while the grandkids were playing in the park, in very cold conditions, I had a few minutes to walk around and take a few shots.

Under the Avila Bridge

On stormy days black & white often looks better to me.  This was taken under the bridge at Avila.  The bridge crosses this creek that flows into the ocean.  At high tide the creek becomes a back bay.

The Way if Was?

There is a section of Pismo Beach that allows motorized vehicles to drive out on the sand. During my walk yesterday this old car went by.  Not sure what it is, maybe a Ford.  I did a little cropping and then converted into B&W with Silver Efex Pro.  My way of recreating history.

Morro Bay

Morro Bay is located on the Central Coast of CA and it was foggy there all day.  I was shooting film but when the light began to change I had to try one with digital for posting this evening.
