Our local lake and primary water source for several towns including Santa Barbara reached very low levels over that last few years. With this season’s heavy rain it up to 80%.
Duck Bay is found on the northeast end of Payette Lake in McCall, Idaho.
My son and his family live on Bainbridge Island, WA and we have the opportunity to visit them a few times a year. If you like to hike and take photos, this is the place to do it. Gasson Lake Trail is about 5 miles round trip and fairly level. This shot is on the backside of the lake. It took some bushwhacking to get to this spot as the trail didn’t come this way.
On our last day in Tahoe I walked down to the lake shore to get a sunset and saw this boathouse. There was some controlled burning in the area which gave part of the sky and distant clouds the orange hue.
I have no idea what these rock piles are but assume they’re man made. No one that I talked to seemed to know. They do add some interest to one of the sparkling blue coves of Lake Tahoe.
After a full day of snow I went back to Emerald Bay the next day to find it basking in the sun.
I had the pleasure of fly fishing this small colorful lake last week in Montana. We caught and released several very nice brook trout.
