While at Maryland’s Great Falls Park the dramatic Potomac river gets most of the attention including mine. However, paralleling the river is the C&O Canal, occasionally referred to as the “Grand Old Ditch,” operated from 1831 until 1924. It runs from Cumberland, Maryland to Washington, DC and is 185.5 miles long. A quiet contrast to the roaring river.
My last post was of a rare snow fall on the Central Coast but it’s gone now so back to normal. There are some ranches a few miles inland from the ocean which I have permission to go on. This spot is on top of a ridgeline on the Righetti Ranch south or Orcutt, CA
Moulton Cabin in Jackson Hole, WY is a popular photo with everyone framing it with the sun highlighting the cabin and the Tetons in the background. As you can see, the weather was uncooperative so I thought black and white would be a more appropriate way to see it.
