During a recent trip to Maui I found these rock formations. They are the result of one of the last lava flows on Maui. Dragon’s Teeth is a unique formation located at Makaluapuna Point in Kapalua on the island’s northwestern shore.
Most people stop to watch the surfers from Maui’s Hookipa Beach Lookout which is fun to do. If, however, you walk around the corner to the right there a trail down to lava rocks and the crashing sea. What I found interesting was this old barbed wire fence that separates the public portion and the adjacent private property.
