It’s not often you can find Kaanapali Beach empty of people to get a clean shot of Lanai.
Avila Bay is not far from where I live and I need to get out there more often. I have a photographer friend who calls it “his office”. I used a little longer exposure to slightly blur the water.
Most people stop to watch the surfers from Maui’s Hookipa Beach Lookout which is fun to do. If, however, you walk around the corner to the right there a trail down to lava rocks and the crashing sea. What I found interesting was this old barbed wire fence that separates the public portion and the adjacent private property.
Early morning sun is painting the clouds a little pink in this long exposure shot.
This small creek runs out of the foothills into the ocean at Montana de Oro State Park. The park is southwest of Los Osos, CA.
I’m home for a while and have been going out to some favorite local spots. This is Avila Bay at first light using a 90 sec exposure.
One of several isolated beaches on Kauai. This was taken while sitting in the water to cool off. There were no waves so the camera was safe.
Montana de Oro State Park is a place I go to often. Always with a camera but also for walking and enjoying. There are miles of trails and paths with several inaccessible beaches with interesting rock formations. This is the one I’d really like to get down to.
We left early on our drive to Hana and before the day had hardly begun this wonderful rainbow appeared. A good omen.
