Above the Fog

Taken from a mountain top South of Guadalupe, CA yesterday morning.  The fog actually cover the ocean to the left and Pismo Beach.

I’m back home on the Central Coast with dark and foggy mornings.  Perfect for black and white.  This is under the Pismo Beach Pier.

Central Coast Poppies

Central Coast Poppies

There are many more Death Valley photos but today I decided no editing.  I got out in my own neighborhood and had a fun day taking random shots in the middle of the day.  You don’t always need the golden hours.  I found this hillside full of Poppies just south of Cambria, CA and had to jump a fence and hike a bit to get there but it was well worth it.  Could have stayed all afternoon.

Pismo Pier

Pismo Pier

Pismo Pier in the dark.  In the past I’ve tried this when it was light but before sunup with ND filters.  Today I went out at 5:30AM and captured this without a filter and got a totally different look.

She’s Gone

She's Gone

I have been playing around with film and on the way home the Amtrak passed me.  I decided to pull into the station to look around.  I observed this gentleman hug is wife and put her on the train.  He stayed to watch her leave as did I.

The Clouds Break

This shot happened as I was packing up from shooting long exposures in the early morning clouds and fog.  This is an area in Pismo Beach, CA called Dinosaur Caves. At low tide you can get down into the rocks and caves.
