Sugar Loaf Rock

I posted this rock previously but it has been awhile ago.  Recently a person contacted by me via the blog who wanted permission to print it for a gift.  His request motivated me to go shoot it again.  The stormy weather was just clearing.  You get pretty wet taking a 45 second exposure with an incoming tide.

Tahoe Rocks

I have no idea what these rock piles are but assume they’re man made.  No one that I talked to seemed to know. They do add some interest to one of the sparkling blue coves of Lake Tahoe.

Rock Race

I had to post one more Racetrack Playa shot.  When I saw this I had to chuckle.  These rocks may have been racing each other for thousands of years and it’s still very close.  We mortals will never know who wins but it does look as if one participant dropped out.  There was no sign of it anywhere.

Carved

Along the Central Coast there are several rivers running from the foothills which flow into the Pacific. These rivers have created both interesting geological formations and fertile soil.  Cliffs wrap around a freshly plowed field. wrap

The Clouds Break

This shot happened as I was packing up from shooting long exposures in the early morning clouds and fog.  This is an area in Pismo Beach, CA called Dinosaur Caves. At low tide you can get down into the rocks and caves.
