One of several isolated beaches on Kauai. This was taken while sitting in the water to cool off. There were no waves so the camera was safe.
Aspen Corner is on Snow Bowl Road north of Flagstaff, AZ. I spent a few days in the Sedona area last week and took a day to check out the aspens.
During our drive home from Palouse the timing worked out that the sun was coming up on Mt Shasta. Couldn’t resist one of those iconic shots.
This was taken at sunset with cross lighting using my Mamiya 7 and Fuji Velvia 50. It very much represents the look and feel of Palouse.
Potlatch, Idaho is home to the Freeze Community Church founded in 1889. While touring the Palouse area I didn’t expect to be photographing churches but this was too good to pass up.
This is the first of several photos I will be posting of the Palouse area. The Dahmen Barn is in Union Town, Washington and the property is fenced with various wheels from old farm equipment. The fields have been harvested and what you’re seeing in the background is the stubble which remains.
I saw on the map a place called Point No Point which is at the northern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula, Washington. With a name like that I was curious and read that it was home to a lighthouse which was built in 1880. After a 45 minute drive from Bainbridge Island there it was.
I was taking a photo walk yesterday afternoon at Avila Beach, California and was reminded of a recent post by Stephen Hipperson titled Contre-jour. This capture was about 3:00PM so as the sun sets further I imagine the look will change. So something for next time. Thanks Stephen for the inspiration.
There is surf school in Avila for young children. You can see all the students in the background getting some instruction before entering the water.
