Visiting Manassas Battlefield today. Critical fighting occured at First Mansassas (Bull Run) and was centered on Henry Hill.
This is one of the photos from Christmas week in Sedona, AZ. The old building and water wheel are what remains of Crescent Moon Ranch, a settlement that was homesteaded in the late 1800’s.
National Harbor along the Potomac River, Maryland.
This cabin was used as a summer retreat for the owners of the Bar Z Ranch. It sits just West of the Smith River. A small amount of the morning snow remains on the roof.
I’m a sucker for old cabins, barns and gnarly trees. Hard to pass them up. The trees seem to always look better shot in B&W. This is at Buckingham Lake near White Sulfur Springs, Montana. I spent a week in this area fly fishing and taking photos. It was a fun trip and I’ll put others up on the site over the next few days.
After the warm fall day the weather turned. Snow showers and windy. This cabin was on the west side of the Smith River where our days fly fishing began.
One of those mornings when you get up early looking for the sunrise and it isn’t there. Nice to have a ND filter handy and accept what nature gives you.
The photo tells the story. Taken late yesterday afternoon on a warm pleasant day on the Central Coast of California.
Moulton Cabin in Jackson Hole, WY is a popular photo with everyone framing it with the sun highlighting the cabin and the Tetons in the background. As you can see, the weather was uncooperative so I thought black and white would be a more appropriate way to see it.
My wife and I are driving to Jackson Hole, WY to join long time friends. Zion National Park was not to far from our route so we took the detour. Today was full of rain showers, lighting, and wonderful colors. I climbed to a high point and this is what I saw and yes the rainbow is real.
